First Event · Open to All Friends & Family
It is an evening of laughs, memories, drag and karaoke.
Come ready to sing badly and dance worse.
Food & Drink
The food is on us, we are self-catering this one with love, saving for the wedding! So Dominik & Scott will be making everything by hand. Expect a generous spread of canapés, snacks, and cakes. There is no proper sit-down dinner though, so please have a big lunch before you come and you will be golden.
The full menu is still coming together and once we have settled on what we are serving, we will share the list here. Drinks are available to buy at the bar all night. 🥂
Most importantly: there's a spot on the RSVP to flag any allergies or dietary preferences — just tell us there and we'll make sure there is plenty for everyone.
When You Walk In
Your first job of the night: grab Polaroid camera by the door and take a selfie. Just you, or your whole group. Give it a moment to develop, write your names on the white strip, and pop it into our memory book.
We would love a snap of everyone arriving, with a few words alongside that mean something. We just want to keep these memories of all the people we love in one place, so the sillier and crazier the better.
On the Night
No party of ours would be complete without a little sparkle, so we have a fabulous drag act joining us to keep the night going. Give her a follow on Instagram before the big day.
A Note on Gifts
Honestly, please don't bring a gift. We have everything we need at home, and the only thing we really want is you there celebrating with us.
We love a good card, so if you would like to mark the occasion, bring an envelope with a card and, if you fancy, pop a tenner inside. That is more than enough, and the words you write mean the world to us. Please do not spend on chocolates, drinks or little bits and bobs. We do not really eat sweets or drink, and we honestly do not need a thing.
Curious why an envelope, a card and a little cash? It is a lovely Croatian tradition of ours. Read the story here.
The Day After · Everyone Welcome
A relaxed get-together the day after the party — good food and a gentle wind-down before everyone heads off. Locals and travelling guests alike, anyone still around is welcome.
Food & Drink
Unlike the party, this one isn't on us — Sunday lunch is a relaxed sit-down at the Holiday Inn where everyone pays for their own meal. We're keeping our budget for the wedding, so we can't fund this one, but it's a lovely, low-key way to round off the weekend together before everyone heads home.
Take a look at the menu, and just let us know on your RSVP if you'll be joining so we can give the hotel a rough number.
Coming From Abroad?
Some of you are travelling to be here for the engagement — thank you. Tell us which nights you would come in and who is travelling with you, and we will help sort the best room prices we can.
Getting Here
London Luton (LTN) is the closest, easiest hop to Corby. About 45 minutes away. We will be in Corby from Saturday morning until we check out Sunday afternoon, then we head to ours in Thorney, Peterborough.
Flying in just for the day is totally fine by us, but if you would like to come earlier or stay longer, just let us know on your RSVP.
Where to Stay
The party itself is right here at the Inn, so you can stay exactly where the celebration is. Scott works for Trinity, so we can pass on a discounted room rate — but everyone books and pays for their own room separately. Stay whichever nights suit you, anywhere from Friday to Monday. And if you're staying over, the hotel has a spa and pool you're welcome to use — make sure to go and check it out.
Fancy being near us rather than in Corby? The Rose & Crown in our village is a lovely spot to stay — perfect if you're coming early or making more of the trip. Thorney is a pretty model village out in the fens, rebuilt by the 7th Duke of Bedford — whose Duchess, Anna, is the very person credited with inventing afternoon tea. Rooms are booked & paid by you.
Thorney sits just outside Peterborough. If you're staying with us or at the Rose & Crown, get a train to Peterborough and one of us will pick you up by car. Heading home, you'd travel Peterborough → Luton, or we'll try to run you to Luton ourselves. Just tell us on your RSVP and we'll figure it out together.
When you RSVP, you will tell us which nights you are coming in, who is travelling with you and where you would like to stay. This way we can gather everyone's dates and organise everything.
